Maneira Advogados joins two other companies

After joining Ecija – one of the largest law firms in Europe -, the São Paulo company Maneira Advogados announces the merger of the firm with two other offices in Belo Horizonte: Brito & Maia Advogados e Consultores and Carneiro Advogados.

The objective, according to the founder of Maneira Advogados, Eduardo Maneira, is to strengthen the presence in Minas and add new skills to the office.

“We realized that we have many clients in the State, mainly through national companies. We understand, then, that we have a large field of activity to be explored here, especially medium and large local companies, many family-owned and several, including, with national operations. Furthermore, with the new partners we gain more areas of activity, expanding our portfolio, becoming a more comprehensive office”, explains Maneira.

With more than 20 years in the market, Brito & Maia is a recognized firm in the areas of Corporate, Civil and Labor Law. Carneiro Advogados adds strength to the group in the area of ​​Tax and Civil Law. Both brands will disappear at the end of the merger, all becoming Maneira Advogados.

The Belo Horizonte unit was created with a structure of 30 lawyers and almost 700 square meters established in the Negócios neighborhood, in the Center-South region.

“In addition to serving a clientele from Minas Gerais, we are exporting the services of Minas Gerais lawyers to the rest of the country, this way we will be able to nationalize Minas Gerais lawyers. The State has a great tradition in training lawyers and jurists, with large schools, which puts us in an advantageous position to continue growing”, he highlights.

Maneira Advogados’ goal for the next three years is to double its size. Today there are 160 people and 70 lawyers. From the association with Ecija, another area should be developed: digital law.

“Perhaps we are still not fully aware of the growing importance of this area in Brazil. Services are the protagonists of the 21st century economy. Everything linked to technology, media and telecommunications will be fundamental for all sectors of the economy. All rules linked to data protection will be very strict”, adds the founder of Maneira Advogados.
